Grace is a contemporary textile artist specializing in hand embroidery. Splitting her time between London and the U.S., Grace finds inspiration in the everyday, transforming ordinary moments into textile art. She loves to experiment and learn new skills, often incorporating unique materials and blending a wide variety of techniques.
Her journey into embroidery began as a hobby, picking up random craft kits and raiding her mom’s supplies. In 2021, she took a big step and moved to the U.K. to pursue a BA in Hand Embroidery at the prestigious Royal School of Needlework. She has cultivated a diverse portfolio that spans couture fashion, community-focused workshops, and conceptual art.
Passionate about making embroidery both fun and accessible, Grace uses her advanced skills to design kits, tutorials, and one-of-a-kind pieces that invite others into the joy of stitching. What began as a personal project, Gigi Richie, has evolved into a vibrant community where embroidery lovers from all backgrounds come together to celebrate the craft.
Grace’s work has been exhibited across the U.K., including at the House of Hackney’s Nature the Artist show, New Designers 2024, and Susan Aldworth’s Belongings. She has also contributed to notable projects such as the Coronation of King Charles III, Erdem AW23, the Red Dress project, and Fromental x Maddux Creative’s Wow!house.
